Background check experience
The main challenges Marshmallow faced were related to the hiring process. As the company rapidly expanded, hiring over 150 people in the past 12 months, background checking became a cumbersome, manual process. The amount of time spent on this task was significant, detracting from other vital areas of the People Operations roadmap.
To streamline the hiring process, Marshmallow chose Zinc as their background checking provider. Zinc's seamless integration with Workable allowed for one-click triggering of background checks, automating what had been a super manual process. Other HR tools like CultureAmp, Hibob, and Talenthub were also implemented to improve engagement and hiring process efficiency.
Results
By implementing Zinc, Marshmallow managed to complete background checks for nearly 60 new hires within the last 6 months. The significant time-saving achieved allowed the company to refocus efforts on essential People Operations objectives and continue building Marshmallow as an outstanding place to work.
