Secure hiring is essential to TCHC, being Ofsted and ISO compliant, safe harbor equipment processes are included throughout the entire recruitment process. Alex, the Safeguarding lead at TCHC is responsible for ensuring everyone is safe and their welfare is being promoted at all times, this applies to any individual that comes into contact with the organisation including learners, staff and visitors. This is why they have to conduct secure and thorough background checks for all new joiners.

In an industry with high turnover rates and an increasing need for safeguarding, the team at TCHC never had enough time. Being a team of one, manually completing reference checks was a huge challenge in their hiring process, consuming hours of time verifying, contacting and chasing references several times. Hiring more than 30 new hires in 4 months meant that management was a nightmare, with a constant stream of hiring tasks to be completed and not enough time to complete them.

Solution

There had to be a solution that could simplify the hiring process, making background checks easier to manage while not compromising on security, so the team at TCHC went seeking advice for background checking solutions among others in the HR community. The most important thing was finding a solution that was nice and simple to use so they could save valuable time, all while having full confidence that the background checks were being completed to the highest standards.
