The Zinc and Ashby Integration enables growing HR teams to quickly screen potential job candidates for various checks, including criminal background and credit history. The integration makes it simple to add background checks from Zinc directly to Ashby.

Connect Zinc with Ashby

Step 1: To generate an API key, you must log into your Zinc account and navigate the Settings tab. Once in the Settings tab, scroll down to the ATS Integrations section and click "Generate API Key." After you have clicked on that, a value will be provided for you to copy.

Step 2: To set up the Ashby-Zinc integration, you must be logged in to your Ashby account. Once logged in, navigate to the “Admin” section. Click on the “Integrations” tab, and select Zinc from the list of available integrations. Then click on the “Enable Zinc” button.

Step 3: To use the Ashby app, you must paste your Zinc API key. This key can be found in your Zinc account under the "API Keys" section. Once you have copied the key, simply head to the Ashby app and paste it into the "Zinc API Key" section.

Step 4: Select “Ashby API Key” and create a new API key. You won’t need to copy the Ashby API Key.

Step 5: Adding checks to your assessments.

Within the Ashby dashboard, there are three options to choose from when adding a background check to your candidate assessments.

The "Configure in interview plan" option on the Ashby dashboard allows you to specify when a Zinc background check should be conducted for each candidate assessment. This is a helpful feature if you want to ensure that all candidates are screened at the same stage of the process. By configuring background checks in the interview plan, you can be sure that no candidates slip through the cracks.

The "automatically add to hired stage" feature in Ashby will ensure that every candidate who is moved to the hired stage for any job in your account will automatically have a Zinc background check added to their profile. This will streamline the process for you and your team and ensure that all new hires have been thoroughly screened.

“Automatically add to offer stage” means that whenever a candidate is added to the offer stage for all jobs in your Ashby account, a Zinc background check will automatically be added to their candidate profile. This will save you time as you will no longer need to add the background check to each candidate’s profile manually. Simply ensure that all candidates in your Ashby account have their offer stage set to “automatically add to offer stage”, and a Zinc background check will be automatically added to their profile.
